Five Things I Can’t Live Without in My Kitchen.

While I know in the literal sense I could live without each of these items in my kitchen, they truly make working, cooking, baking and entertaining much easier. I love each item and here’s why.

Le Creuset Dutch Oven

While I know many of you own this item, I just received this from Dear Old St. Nick this Christmas. This is hands down the best Christmas gift I have ever received.

During the winter I love making all types of soups, and I usually cook these in a stockpot. The Le Creuset 7.25 quart dutch oven allows me to double recipes with ease. It also cooks evenly throughout so I usually don’t burn anything. It keeps the meal I just made very warm, which is great for those who want seconds.

It also serves as a display piece when not in use, always looking nice perched upon the stovetop.

KitchenAid Mixer

Okay, I am not going to lie. This one might be hard to actually live without! I received this as a gift from my Grandmother and I don’t think I could make cookies, whipped cream, mashed potatoes or frosting without it! These are foods I make quite a bit in my home.

This particular KitchenAid Mixer has been with me since 2004. I opted for all white because it is classic and looks good with everything.

Like the Le Creuset, my mixer sits on my counter for the world to see, because it is a showpiece and I love it.

Pendant Lights

This is the first home that I decided to put pendant lights in. We ordered, installed, and returned four other sets of pendant lights before finally ending the search with the Goodman Pendants from Serena and Lily. I initially didn’t want to spend this much on pendant lights. However, when I realized how amazing these pendants were—and after already sending back four —the money was well worth it!

These pendants are vintage brass on the inside of the shade which gives off a gentle light whenever they are on. I love the direct task light on our island when we are cooking, and it makes for a nice ambiance when entertaining.

Area Rug

Area rugs are always a gamble in the kitchen. You don’t want them to be ruined by spills or a myriad of other kitchen hazards. However, they also give off a cozy feeling which makes them very intriguing.

I searched for the perfect rug for over two years. The biggest problem was finding the correct size for our space. I opted for a rug that fits perfectly between our island and the counter because I wanted to be able to stand on it when I was washing dishes and when I was cooking on the stovetop.

This Caitlin Wilson Kismet rug added the right amount of color and warmth to the kitchen. Once I saw it, I knew it was the rug. I get a lot of compliments on this piece so I feel like it is in the right spot!

KitchenAid Wide 5-Burner Gas Cooktop

I have used many cooktops from electric to induction, and now gas. This KitchenAid 5-Burner sits in our island has quickly become my favorite.

I love this cooktop for many reasons. It is wide enough to cook multiple items. It also has the larger burner in the center that can boil water fast, while simultaneously offering one of the most controlled simmer settings I’ve used. This center burner is where that Le Creuset lives. This burner has saved me time when cooking and it helps when I am in a rush.

My cooktop is also stainless steel which cleans up very nicely and looks amazing when not in use.

There are many other items in my kitchen that I use daily and I enjoy as well. However, the items above are the ones that I would purchase again without hesitation or even looking for something else if something were to happen to them. Let’s pray that never happens.
